This was the little patch of grass on the corner in front of my house between where the sidewalks cross. I tilled it and soon claimed it as my own. The village likes it!!!

I ventured out to grow sunflowers for the first time in 2009. I planted them (from seed as my neighbors laughed) late spring and by mid-summer they'd grown over 8' tall. I eventually had to cut them down because the squirrels were making me nervous. Here are the before and after pics... ENJOY!!!

I applied last year around this time and received my seeds just in time for spring planting. I received about 100 packs total of flower, vegetable and herb seeds. You can ask for more, if needed. I just wanted to share this info. with you because it worked for me!

The Annual Hampton Court Flower Show Is In Full Bloom
LONDON, ENGLAND - JULY 05: Gardening tools and accessories for sale are displayed during the press preview day of the Hampton Court Palace Flower Show...
Last year, I planted my very first vegetable garden too late in the season and was partially impressed. I planted carrots, peas, string beans, okra, broccoli, cabbage, lettuce and herbs. What DID manage to grow was quite impressive. However, I was afraid to eat it because I wasn't sure if it was safe (me = beginner).
I have since learned that I live in zone 5 and that I planted an "organic garden". I'd love to do it again so I'm on top of it early this year. I've already found an awesome website - http://www.organicgardening.com/learn-and-grow.
I'll be sure to share any furture good ideas, advice, sources, etc. that I collect along my journey. Thanks for stopping by!!!
